"Fox's sci-fi comedy Used Guys, which previously had Jay Roach directing Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey, will change the story's focus into a vehicle for Stiller and Reese Witherspoon.
Little Miss Sunshine directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are negotiating to take on helming duties. No writer has been hired.
The comedy takes place in a future run by women, who clone and trade men like used cars. The current take at Fox focuses more on the relationship between Stiller's character and Witherspoon's clone owner.
Roach will remain a producer on the project along with Stiller's Red Hour Films."
Never thought this would go back into production. I also never thought that I'd ever see Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon as a couple. Hmm... director of Academy Award-nominated film and Academy Award-winning actress. It could work.
BTW, Ben Stiller directed Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder in an Academy Award-nominated performance and Reese Witherspoon played June Carter in Walk the Line which she got a much-deserved Oscar for.
