STAR WARS 3D?

"It's been widely reported that George Lucas has expressed interest in bringing the Star Wars movies back to theaters with a fresh 3D treatment. Today in the IGN Theater at the C2E2 convention in Chicago, Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet addressed those reports.

He says: 'George has publicly expressed an interest in doing Star Wars 3D. Right now there are a number of different technologies, there's some criticism out there about some of the movies that have quickly changed to 3D, so you have to pick the right technology, you have to get it to a cost that makes sense, and you have to have the time of the director and producer -- George -- to actually go in there, because you can't push a button and stuff goes in one end and comes out 3D...'

'Saying all that, George remains very interested in doing the Star Wars movies, all six, in 3D, and I hope it will happen someday in the not too distant future.'"

Indy himself confirms story 5 is set!

"Harrison Ford tells the BBC that there's a storyline for the fifth Indiana Jones film. The actor, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have come up with a rough outline for the follow-up to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

'Steven and George and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we're seeing what comes of it.'

He added that, despite coming up with an idea for the movie, people won't see the movie for some time.

'The process works like this,' he said. 'We come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it. Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form. Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it's ready and we do it.'

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull earned $786.6 million worldwide."

Lucasfilm doing a CGI Fairy Musical?

"Heat Vision is reporting that Lucasfilm is developing an untitled, top-secret CGI-animated musical at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch.

Kevin Munroe (TMNT) is directing the film, which is expected to feature music from a variety of sources. Munroe recently wrapped production on Dead of Night, a live-action adaptation of the horror comic series 'Dylan Dog'.

David Berenbaum (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Elf) wrote the screenplay for the project, which reportedly features fairies."

I'm gonna paraphrase a Luke Skywalker line from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - "If you think this is a bad idea, I'm beginning to agree with you."

The trio join an ensemble including hip-hop star Method Man and singers Ne-Yo and Jazmine Sullivan for Red Tails, a World War II action-adventure about the Tuskegee Airmen - America's first black military pilots. Actors Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Lee Tergesen, Elijah Kelley, Andre Royo and Jesse Williams will also star in the movie, reports Variety. Star Wars guru Lucas, who co-created the film, will also serve as executive producer. Anthony Hemingway will direct. Filming is scheduled to begin in Europe later this month."

Anything new from George Lucas is cool with me. And it's pretty cool that now he's doing a true-story war film.
