"Columbia Pictures has brought online the teaser trailer for Adam McKay's action comedy The Other Guys, starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson.
Opening on August 6, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Ferrell), a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Wahlberg), who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an embarrassing public incident with his quick trigger finger. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Manzetti (Johnson and Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned."

MEGAMIND launches his evil and fun trailer

In the November 5 release, super villain Megamind (Will Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt) and the world should be his oyster. But instead, Megamind falls into total despair. It turns out that life without a rival is life without a point for him. So, he creates a new superhero rival, Titan (Jonah Hill). Unfortunately, the new hero wants to be a super villain, too. Caught in the middle, star reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey) asks the tough questions: Who can we turn to? Who has what it takes to stand up to this menace? Who will defend the innocent? Megamind! Johnson and Jackson fight THE OTHER GUYS

"Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson and Steve Coogan will star in the Columbia Pictures comedy The Other Guys, to be directed by Adam McKay.
Johnson and Jackson will play super cops in the film. Coogan is set as the villain. They join the previously-announced Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton and Damon Wayans Jr.
Johnson and Jackson will play an elite cop tandem whose exploits are the envy of the department and the second-tier fellow cops played by Ferrell and Wahlberg.
The movie was written by Chris Henchy and McKay."

Will Ferrell gets an OOBERMIND

"DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. announced today that Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill will star alongside Tina Fey in its upcoming theatrical release, Oobermind, which is scheduled to hit theaters on November 5, 2010. Will Ferrell assumes the leading role of Oobermind, replacing Robert Downey, Jr., who has left the production due to scheduling conflicts.

Ah! And here I thought we were going to get Robert Downey Jr. in an animated movie! Oh, well, maybe someday.
Will Ferrell seriously needs to do more animated movies. I know he did Curious George but that's for a specific audience - 5 year olds.
Brad Pitt, I'm really surprised to hear about. He must be wanting to do more comedy in his career - Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Inglorious Basterds (I'm not taking him seriously in that accent!)
Jonah Hill as a supervillain? I dunno. I'll wait and see.

Will Ferrell is your NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

"Will Ferrell is in talks to topline and David Dobkin (Fred Claus, Wedding Crashers) is in negotiations to direct the comedy Neighborhood Watch at 20th Century Fox. The story chronicles an urbanite's journey as he moves to a suburban community, joins the neighborhood watch and uncovers a large conspiracy. Jared Stern wrote the screenplay. Shawn Levy, who had been eyeing the project as a helming vehicle, will produce with Tom McNulty through their Fox-based 21 Laps."
Now I was hoping for a new Shawn Levy movie after Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian but maybe he's too focused on Date Night.
UPDATE: It has just been reported that Will Ferrell and David Dobkins have left the project. Shawn Levy remains as producer. Hopefully, he will decide to take over as director.
