Stan Lee confirms ANT-MAN?

From SuperHeroHype!:

"While Marvel Studios is moving full steam ahead with Kenneth Branagh's Thor and Joe Johnston has been all over the place talking about his The First Avenger: Captain America this past weekend, there's still one very elusive missing piece to the Avengers puzzle, and that would be... Ant-Man!

A movie about the diminutive Avenger, Dr. Hank Pym, who is in fact one of the charter members of the team, has been in the works for some time. In fact, Edgar Wright was on hand at that very same Marvel Studios Comic-Con panel back in 2006 when Jon Favreau and Louis Letterier were first talking about their upcoming projects Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.

When Disney bought Marvel, there were some [rum]ors Pixar might take over the project, but those were swiftly denied by John Lasseter, so that puts Ant-Man back into Wright's hands, having developed the project with Joe Cornish quite a bit before shifting his focus to Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Apparently, Stan 'The Man' Lee, the co-creator of Ant-Man, met with Wright for lunch today, something that Lee proudly recapped on his Twitter feed with two intriguing tweets:

'To make up for my previous grievous error, here's a little item that may have escaped you. Marvel is prepping a movie starring-- Ant Man!'

and

'I had lunch with the cool, young director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the [UnD]ead) and, as you'd imagine, we had fun discussing the tiny hero'

Now of course, it could just be a coincidence that they were having lunch and talking about Ant-Man, but Lee stating that Marvel is prepping the movie seems to indicate they're finally moving forward now that Wright is putting the finishing touches on Scott Pilgrim.

Here's hoping Stan Lee isn't being the tease we've known him to be since he started writing Stan's Soap Box."

Excelsior! Stan Lee's in THOR!

From ComingSoon.net:

"Stan Lee confirmed today via his Twitter account that he will have a cameo role in Thor. You can read his amusing tweets below...

'Hey, I got an email from the multu-talented director of Thor, Kenneth Branagh. Not enough space left to tell what he said-- stay tuned--'

'Kenneth Branagh (of course I call him 'Ken!') said my cameo's set for the upcoming Thor movie. --To him, it's a cameo, to me-- it's a ROLE!'

'I went easy on Ken Branagh when we discussed my role in Thor. Told him I wouldn't insist on my name above the title, I think he was grateful'

'Yeah, I mentioned Ken Banagh a few times, but I warned you I was a name driopper. Seriously tho', with him directing, Thor's a sure winner.'

'Of course, my previous tweet revealed the extent of my innate modesty. I really wanted to add 'With me doing a cameo, Thor's a sure winner.''

'Can't tweet anymore. Due to Thor, I must start rehearsing my thee's and thou's. So, if thou objecteth not, I wish thee well! 'Nuff saideth.'

Auditions are starting this week for the movie, with filming to start in January. Opening in theaters on May 20, 2011, the adaptation stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba and Kat Dennings."

Stan Lee swings a cameo in VENOM spinoff

From SuperheroHype.com:

"At this point, it's a foregone conclusion that Marvel's former president and chairman Stan Lee will have a cameo in every single movie based on a Marvel Comics character whether or not he had any direct association with that character during his lengthy career. But how many of the upcoming movies can claim that he's already been written into the script?

Zombieland creators Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese... admitted to us that Lee will appear in the Venom movie and that they've even already written his part!

'Oh, yeah. Stan Lee is in it,' Reese told us. 'I feel like that's the one thing we can say. He does appear in our script, and we're very specific about where he is and why. May he live forever. Let's hope he's in many movies to come.'"

Good to see ol' Stan is still the Man! Better hurry up on these movies, guys! And no, Topher Grace will not appear as Venom as he did in Spider-Man 3. I don't see how this movie will be possible without mentioning Spider-Man. But it will be worth it to see Stan Lee.

Stan Lee's NICK RATCHET gets a lease on life

From ComingSoon.net:

"Douglas Cook and David Weisberg have been hired to write Nick Ratchet, one of Stan Lee's POW Entertainment projects set up at Disney. The mystery thriller centers on a Jekyll & Hyde struggle between a meek, ineffectual police officer and his online alter-ego, a tough avatar cop named Nick Ratchet who emerges from inside a video game to usurp the life of his creator. Richard LaGravenese is attached to direct Ratchet, which is based on an idea of Lee's. Larry Jacobson and Sonny Grosso are producing. Lee is executive producing with POW partner Gill Champion."

Sounds like a cross between Me, Myself and Irene and Tron. Huh. I still trust Stan "The Man" Lee!
