The Original Faceman is back in THE A-TEAM

"We received word earlier this month that Dwight Schultz looks to have a cameo in The A-Team movie, and now Dirk Benedict Central says that the actor, who played Templeton 'Faceman' Peck in the series, has a cameo as well:
'Dirk has just announced to this website that he has two projects in the works beginning with a cameo appearance in the new The A-Team film, which is currently shooting in Vancouver Canada.'
Opening in theaters on June 11, the 20th Century Fox release also stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Quinton Jackson and Yul Vazquez. Joe Carnahan is directing the film."

"The Official Dwight Schultz Fansite says that the actor will have a cameo role in director Joe Carnahan's The A-Team. The site says:
'We are pleased to inform you all that Dwight has actually already been working in Vancouver, where he has played a cameo role in The A-Team movie. Sharlto Copley, the South African actor who plays Murdock, is according to Dwight: 'brilliant beyond words'. Dwight has seen his screen test and he stated: 'that honestly, if Sharlto is given an opportunity to do what I saw in that test, 'Murdock' will be better than ever!' Sharlto has been very kind to him on the set and Dwight must say that he has been treated very well.'

THE A-TEAM gets a Murdock and a Biel

"Last week, it was rumored that District 9 star Sharlto Copley was joining the cast of Fox's The A-Team as Capt. 'Howling Mad' Murdock. Variety has now confirmed that casting and also reports that Jessica Biel is in final talks to join as well.
Biel is set to play an Army general pursuing the team who is the ex-love of Cooper's character 'Faceman'.
The two join Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson in the Joe Carnahan-directed action-adventure, scheduled to be released on June 11, 2010. Ridley Scott, Jules Daly and Stephen J. Cannell are producing the film, written by Skip Woods."
COOL!! Me and a friend of mine are closely watching this movie. He'll be thrilled to know that somebody from District 9 will be in the film. And who doesn't love a hottie like Jessica Biel?

Chris Pine "Howlin' Mad" for THE A-TEAM

"Chris Pine is making... casting buzz on another high profile project, this time the big screen version of The A-Team, being directed by Joe Carnahan (who directed Pine [in] Smokin’ Aces, a role which got the buzz train rolling for the young actor). The surprising thing for this project is that Pine isn’t angling to play the team leader Col. John Hannibal Smith, played by George Peppard on the classic 80s show, nor does he want to play Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck (played by Dirk Benedict). No, Star Trek’s leading man tells MTV he wants to play H.M. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, a role originally played by Dwight Shultz."
I've seen pictures. Not that bad of a resemblance. This could work. Of course, I can't wait for an A-Team movie anyway, but if they're gonna do it right, they need to bring back Mr. T.

Ridley Scott calls THE A-TEAM

Filmmaker brothers Ridley and Tony Scott are teaming up to take hit TV show The A-Team to the big screen. The long-rumoured big screen adaptation will hit movie theatres in 2010, produced by the British duo and directed by Joe Carnahan.
The project was thrown into disarray in October when John Singleton quit the project.
But Carnahan is determined to breathe new life into the movie, about four Vietnam veterans who are wrongly convicted of armed robbery and escape military prison to become mercenary 'do-gooders'.
The Smokin' Aces director reveals his vision to Daily Variety: 'This was a coveted property, and re-imagining a show that I remembered as a kid was tough to turn down.
'Fox (Studios) hired me to make it as emotional, real and accessible as possible without cheesing it up.
'You can make a film that reflects on the real world without losing the sense of fun, and the velocity of action in a classic summer popcorn film. Having Ridley and Tony on board lends considerable weight to that and classes up the whole project.'"
As long as they have Mr. T and the original theme song, I'm hooked. But I ain't getting in no plane. I pity the fool who puts me on a plane.
