From ComingSoon.net:
"Tobey Maguire is set to star in The Details, an indie black comedy written and directed by Jacob Estes. Shooting begins August in Seattle.
Maguire joins Elizabeth Banks (who plays Betty Brant in the Spider-Man pics) in the film about a struggling married couple who, already struggling with issues like infidelity and whether they should stay married, see their lives further complicated by ravenous raccoons burrowing under the sod in their back yard. A disagreement over how to dispatch the pests creates a chain reaction of mishaps.
Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and Anna Friel round out the cast and Laura Linney is attached to play an eccentric neighbor.
Maguire steps into a role that James McAvoy held until a scheduling conflict knocked him out of the picture. Maguire decided to do the film before making Spider-Man 4 with director Sam Raimi in 2010."
Glad to see Maguire doing a comedy after the Spider-Man movies (which are slightly funny, don't get me wrong) and his other historical dramas. If you haven't seen Pleasantville (featuring one of Don Knotts' final cinematic performances) it is funny as well. But don't ever mention Cats & Dogs...
Also glad to see Maguire pairing up with Elizabeth Banks. I believe she is an actress that deserves watching. It mentions them being together in the Spider-Man movies but also they co-starred in Seabiscuit.
