From WorstPreviews:
"Summit Entertainment recently announced that it has acquired rights to the biography 'The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero' and plans to turn it into an action thriller instead of a biopic. The idea is to make Houdini a character who is part Indiana Jones and part Sherlock Holmes.
Apparently, Summit was serious about making the character Indy-like, since the studio has now hired Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull writer Jeff Nathanson to write the script. Nathanson shared story credit on Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with George Lucas. He has also previously scripted Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal."
I'm still waiting on Ripley's Believe it or Not with Jim Carrey playing Ripley. He's supposed to be Indiana Jones-like.
UPDATE: Nathanson has now been signed not only to write, but direct.
